Professional Bio:
I started working at the age of 8 in my family's business, Safety Devices Inc, which specialized in electronics for the blasting industry. I did various jobs there, from manual labor to customer service, administration, marketing, and leadership. Our family's culture emphasized doing whatever was necessary, regardless of your experience. Later, I got an entry-level job at GEICO Insurance as a Customer Service Representative and was promoted to a leadership position within five years. I continued to solve problems for the company and received recognition for making a significant impact. I also transitioned into process improvement and used Lean Six Sigma methods. In that role, I discovered my talent for training and educating others in Process Improvement, Competitor Analysis, and Critical Thinking. This engagement with requirements naturally led me to learn more about technology, which I found I loved. So, I transitioned into IT as an individual contributor. Within IT, I explored various roles, from documentation-heavy teams to data-centric teams, and user interface-driven teams learning about all facets of the Private Passenger Auto Industry including the Claims Process. I eventually became a Supervisor in IT known for being a people-oriented leader and a talent developer. I moved up to become a Manager of IT Talent Management and Development, where I began leading other leaders and continued my passion for training and education.
